Weather Report 02/05/2009: Spring is on the way!
"Plum Blossom Hill" is just a short walk from our house, where there are tons of plum trees. They are all expected to blossom in the next few weeks. Just so I don't miss it, I'm taking regular walks there to see each stage of the blossoming.
I do enjoy the charm of nature on Purple Mountain. Each season brings something "charming" to see.
The blossoms are just beginning to appear. When they all come out, it will be beautiful...and the mountain will be packed with tourists!
Baby, It's Cold Outside!
Chinese babies rarely wear diapers, even when it is cold outside and they are bundled-up. Most baby clothes have "split seats" for easy relief...anytime, anyplace.
Recipe for tonifying the blood and invigorating the spleen:

My professor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Lu, often gives us examples of "recipes" of herbal medicines for different syndromes. Here is one recipe we tried at home. Let's just say, we won't be trying it again. :-(

A highlight of every morning is to see how the maids in the hotel arrange the Webkinz on Jesse and Rachel's bed for the day. My advice: don't get used to it!
